I. Natural Conditions of the Academy

Enrollment majors: Chinese Painting, Calligraphy, Cultural Relics Protection and Restoration, Painting, Sculpture, Public Art, Photography, Film and Television Photography and Production, Theater, Film, and Television Directing, Environmental Design, Product Design, Fashion and Apparel Design, Performance, Fine Arts, Art Management, Experimental Arts.

(iii) Type of education: Public regular higher education institution.

(iv) Main educational conditions: The campus covers an area of 958,000 m² (approximately 1436.6 acres); The average teaching and administrative space per student is 21.3 m²; The average dormitory area per student is 10 m²; The student teacher ratio is 15.7; There are 473 full-time teachers, of which 86.3% have graduate degrees and 55.2% have senior positions; The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 119.702 million yuan, with an average value of 15,542 yuan/student; 681,000 printed books; The average number of paper books per student is 88.4 (2023 Grassroots Statistical Data Report).

II. Enrollment target

(i) Non-Chinese citizens who have graduated from high school or above, are physically and mentally healthy, and have no criminal record;

(ii) If residents of Chinese Mainland (mainland), Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan apply to the Academy as international students after emigrating abroad, the Academy will implement the Notice of the Ministry of Education on Regulating the Work of the Academy of Higher Learning to Accept Foreign Students;

(iii) Age range: 17-55 years old.

VII. Application materials

(i) Application Form for Admission of Foreign Students to Luxun Academy of Fine Arts;

(ii) First Page and Blank Page of Passport (for regular passport valid until after May 1, 2026);

(iii) High School Graduation Certificate, Transcript, and Chinese Translation (if the Applicant is a recent graduate, a Pre-Graduation Certificate issued by the Academy of shall be submitted);

(iv) Personal portfolio (At least 8);

(v) Personal statement (in Chinese): Including plans for studying and researching in China, family financial situation, awards received, and personal strengths;

(vi) Copy of valid transcript of HSK above Level 4;

(vii) Recent passport photos with white background and no crown;

(viii) Recommendation letter;

(ix) A Certificate of No Criminal Record issued by local authorities;

(x) If you are within China, you also need to submit: Passport Visa Page and Entry Stamp Page (please note the continuity of visa time), and temporary accommodation registration form for overseas personnel.

Supplementary materials:

(xi) Individuals under the age of 18 shall also submit a guardian certificate issued by the local notary office in China;

(xii) If both or one of the parents is a Chinese citizen and resides abroad, and the individual was born with foreign nationality, they do not have Chinese nationality; Chinese citizens who apply as international students after immigrating to foreign countries shall submit:

1. Nationality certificate;

2. Passport entry and exit records for the past 4 years, or proof of actual residence in a foreign country for 2 years or more in the past 4 years (residing abroad for 9 months in one year can be counted as one year, subject to entry and exit stamps).

VIII. Examinations, assessments, and admissions

After the applicant passes the material review, our school organizes expert evaluation. Those who pass the evaluation can participate in the next round of professional interviews and be selected based on merit.

IX. Cost

(i) Tuition fee:  

Undergraduate students: RMB 28,000yuan/ academic year

Regular advanced students receive RMB 6,000yuan/month; RMB 24,000yuan/academic year

(ii) Textbook fee: Students shall be responsible for purchasing their own materials and tools, and fees will be charged based on actual costs. Drawing materials and tools shall be borne by students;
(iii) Accommodation fee: RMB 1,500 yuan/month (for a single room with a private bathroom, a shared laundry room, a shared kitchen, internet access, etc.);

(iv) Insurance premium: At the time of registration for each academic year, it is necessary to purchase the Comprehensive Insurance for Visitors to China, which shall include hospitalization and accidental injury insurance, with a standard of RMB 800 yuan/year;

(v) Registration fee: 500 yuan.
