Luxun Academy of Fine Arts is one of the earliest institutions in China to carry out graduate education in the field of art. It currently has two master’s degree authorization points in the first - level disciplines of Art Studies and Design; It also has two professional master's degree authorization points in Fine Arts and Calligraphy, and Design.

I. Enrollment target
(i) Non-Chinese citizens with a bachelor’s degree or above, good physical and mental health, and no criminal record;

(ii) If residents of Chinese Mainland (mainland), Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan apply to our school as international students after emigrating abroad, our school will implement the Notice of the Ministry of Education on Regulating Our Institutions of Higher Learning to Accept International Students.

(iii) Age range: 17-55 years old.

VI. Application materials

(i) Application Form for Admission of Foreign Students to Luxun Academy of Fine Arts ;

(ii) First Page and Blank Page of Passport (for regular passport valid until after May 1, 2026);

(iii) Undergraduate graduation certificate, transcript, and Chinese translation (if the applicant is a recent graduate, a pre graduation certificate issued by their school of study must be submitted);

(iv) Personal portfolio (at least 8);

(v) Personal statement (in Chinese): Including plans for studying and researching in China, family financial situation, awards received, and personal strengths;

(vi) Copy of valid transcript of HSK above Level 4;

(vii) Recent passport photos with white background and no crown;

(viii) Recommendation letter (two copies are required for master’s students);

(ix) A certificate of no criminal record issued by relevant local authorities.

Supplementary materials:
(x) Individuals under the age of 18 must also submit a guardian certificate issued by a local notary office in China.

(xi) If within China, it is also necessary to submit: passport visa page and entry stamp page (please note the continuity of visa time), and temporary accommodation registration form for overseas personnel.

VII. Examinations, assessments, and admissions
After the applicant passes the material review, our school organizes expert evaluation. Those who pass the evaluation can participate in the next round of professional written examination and be admitted based on merit.

VIII. Cost

(i) Tuition fee:  

Master’s students pay RMB 30,400yuan/academic year; Regular advanced students receive RMB 6,000 per month or RMB 24,000 yuan/academic year.

(ii) Textbook fee: Students shall be responsible for purchasing their own materials and tools, and fees will be charged based on actual costs. Drawing materials and tools will be borne by students themselves.

(iii) Accommodation fee: RMB 1,500/month (single room, with private bathroom, shared laundry room, shared kitchen, internet, etc.).

(iv) Insurance premium: At the time of registration for each academic year, it is necessary to purchase the Comprehensive Insurance for Visitors to China, which must include hospitalization and accidental injury insurance, with a standard of RMB 800 yuan/year.

(v) Registration fee: RMB 500
